Due to the different characteristics of each building, each community in the street has adopted the method of "autonomous promotion, one floor one policy", and creatively built a variety of elevators such as patio elevators, corridor bridge elevators, seat elevators, etc. according to local conditions, which has solved the demand for installing elevators in many old residential areas.

In the second Lane Community of Renmin East Road in Dongfeng community, due to the close proximity of buildings and the lack of public space, it is difficult to achieve "one building, one elevator". The community Party committee led the community owners to design and install the first corridor bridge elevator in Zhuhai. Through the corridor bridge connection, two buildings can share one elevator, which not only saves costs, but also solves the space problem, benefiting 45 households and more than 200 residents.
In the community of No. 65, Renmin East Road, the owner raised 75000 yuan by himself and innovatively installed the "seat elevator", which solved the problem that the three-story low-rise building was difficult to meet the installation requirements of conventional elevators. It did not affect the lighting and occupied less public area, and explored another new way for low-rise buildings to install elevators.
At No. 18, dongfengli street, according to the building's "Circular" architectural characteristics, the idle patio space generated by the middle ring of the building is used for the installation of elevators. The built "patio type" elevator realizes cost savings and maximizes space utilization.
Shishan Street takes the party building of the community as the guide, leverages the micro practical matters of people's livelihood, and promotes the installation of elevators with the "self-management and autonomy" as the starting point. Led by the community party branch, the community self-management group was established, and community social organizations such as "red gang group" and "elevator installation supervision volunteer service team" were established. While promoting the acceleration and quality improvement of elevator installation, the level of autonomy of the community was improved, the residents' sense of ownership was improved, and the neighborhood life community was closer. At the same time, the installation of elevators, the renovation of corridors and the improvement of the building body are promoted synchronously, so as to realize the integrated improvement of the inside and outside of the building.
So far, 23 elevators have been built and put into use in Shishan Street, 4 are under construction, and another 27 are under promotion.
